Riley is a Director and Client Advisor at Freestone Capital Management. At Freestone, Riley is responsible for directing his client’s unique strategy across all aspects of investment and wealth management. Prior to joining Freestone, Riley was Vice President, Investment Advisor at Scharf Investments LLC focusing on investment management and financial planning services. Riley's career began at Merrill Lynch, helping clients manage their wealth with trading, distribution and custody services. Riley enjoys leading his clients through complex wealth management issues pertaining to liquidity events, stock options and concentrated stock positions.
Education
Riley earned a BS in Economics from the University of Oregon with a minor in Business Administration and concentration in Finance. He holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
Outside Freestone
Riley actively serves as the Head of the Investment Committee for the Rotary Club of Los Gatos, California. He lives in the Pleasure Point neighborhood of Capitola with his wife, daughter and Golden Retriever. When Riley finds time for himself, he enjoys playing golf and traveling to visit those he cares for – friends and family who reside across state lines and country borders. Prior to living in the United States, Riley resided in Australia and Canada.
